Design and control of miniature water vessels
This paper presents the design and practical realization of two mechatronic systems designed to float in the water. The paper first presents a remotely controlled pneumatically powered boat, as an example of ecological and unconventional vessels. The boat is constructed with a proper arrangement of components to ensure its better balance. The propeller is driven by an air motor that enables the propulsion of the boat.

Long -term experiments with hydraulic gear pumps
Hydraulic systems are increasingly present in all segments of our production chains, such as agriculture, construction, transport and various industries. Pumps are mostly the key components of any hydraulic system. With the newly developed gear pump testing device, sustainability tests are performed on five gear pumps simultaneously.

Automation of Technological Processes Using Advanced Simulation Tools in the Process Industry
This article explores the use of advanced simulation tools in the process industry to automate technological processes. The introduction emphasizes the rapid digitization and the role of simulations in this development. Simulation tools have become a crucial part of automation, enabling process optimization and preserving expertise.

Development trends in Fluid Power
Fluid power represents one of the possibilities of controlled energy transfer. Although nowadays especially political actors on a global level strongly push electric drives, hydraulics is still unavoidable. Fluid power also impacts the carbon footprint, so reducing this impact is a very important trend.

Granulation of waste silt
This work focuses on the process parameters of a model disk granulator for using waste silt in calcite production. This entails optimizing the disk’s inclination and rotation frequency, the quantity of supplied silt, the dynamic angle of the bulk material, the amount of added water, and the positions of the scraper, material feed, and wetting nozzle.

Topology Optimization of Micro-Channel Heat Exchangers
The success story presented in this article was developed during the first tranche of the R&D H2020 FF4EuroHPC Project. Partners Optimad, Aidro and CINECA teamed up to address specific business challenge in the manufacturing sector and overcome it with the help of High Performance Computing.

Investigating the effects on root crack propagation in a polymer gear
The study investigates the effects of various parameters on the root crack propagation and, consequently, the service life of the polymer gear. The international gear design standard ISO 6336 employs the 30° tangent method to determine the tooth’s critical section location.

Comparison of measured and design values regarding the intensity of ventilation of the premises
In this article, the focus is on a central ventilation system that has a Dantherm RCV 320 installed. All air measurements, such as: air flow, air temperature, room humidity and CO2, were carried out in a residential prefab low-energy building located in Metlika.

Lifelong multi-agent path planning of automated guided vehicles in intralogistics
This article presents new findings in the field of theoretical and practical aspects of the logistics of autonomous vehicles in the industrial sector, which are being investigated as part of an applied research project. The aim of the project is to use intelligent approaches and limited computing power to find optimal paths, temporal movement plans and task scheduling for a fleet of automated guided vehicles.

Development of a pumping unit for the artificial lift of crude oil from great depths
With the ability to drill to ever greater depths, new opportunities for oil production have emerged. It is estimated that currently more than 90% of all oil wells require artificial lifting. Currently, relatively old technologies are used for production, which have significant drawbacks that reduce oil companies’ revenues.
