Abstract:
In the field of hydraulic pump based tribological tests, there are a few different tests that are designated to reproduce real operating conditions. The aim of all these tests is to determine the wear of hydraulic pump and its vital parts using the hydraulic fluid tested. Such tests involve the use of different types and sizes of pumps, varying amounts of hydraulic fluid tested and different operating conditions, as well as different pump loads and load profiles.
The paper outlines tribological tests with different hydraulic pumps, where the pump load is variable, realized in different ways. The following section presents our own approach to testing the tribological properties of a hydraulic fluid with gear pump, together with other components of the hydraulic system, where load variation is achieved by means of a valve-controlled linear load unit.
