The essential feature is the hardness of materials. Hardness is a measure of the resistance to localized plastic deformation caused by mechanical indentation or abrasion. However, the hardness of the materials can be increased by a heat treatment-tempering process. We will present robotic laser quenching, which, contrary to known heat-curing processes, high-frequency quenching, electrical heating, melt quenching, and other methods, is not a mass quenching process but a surface process.
