<\/strong>Upfront simulation is a term to describe simulation activities being performed early in the design stage. So before physical prototypes are made or full systems being built. The goal is to identify potential issues, optimize designs and predict performance as early as possible, when changes are cheaper and easier to make.
Simulation democratization is understood as making simulation tools accessible to non-simulation expert users within enterprise, organization or community. It means removing the barriers that restrict product managers, designers or even non-professionals to run simulations and make data-driven decisions without needing to be simulation experts.
The paper presents current status regarding upfront simulations and their democratization within Poclain company. The practical cases demonstrate the abilities brought through the upfront (or front-loading) simulations. It is also explained what activities have been made to democratize (deploy) simulation tools among the group of design engineers.<\/p>\n
